The iron, our best friend

The finishing of our creations represents 90% of our project final result; therefore, using the iron becomes essential throughout our work. Every time we iron a piece, for example a sleeve, it is advisable to fix it with the iron before join it to other garment parts.

How is the knitted fabric performance?

Through knitting and crochet we make fabrics with more or less elasticity depending on used type of thread and/or tension. Every elastic fabric can be modified easily, we can lengthen or reduce the measure as we want but we risk deforming the knitted fabric and maybe it could return to its original form.

How do we iron?

Well, to avoid our fabric deformation, we should iron making small tapping on the surface avoiding pressing and sliding on it; in this way, we will fix and maintain the knitted measure.

In case seams existence, it is also advisable to iron them in order to keep them flat and avoid an undesired effect outside. Everything we iron, should wait  a few minutes in the same position to evaporate the generated heat and the steam humidity in case you have used it.
